Final Thoughts – Analyzing the Game as a Whole

Graphics and UI

Very well-crafted pixel art, with a style of its own. The animations are pretty cool as well!
The entire game features a color palette and lighting that bring a strong sense of suspense.

There aren’t many options in the game, all the player can change is the language and the dialogue volume.

During gameplay, it’s possible to use items. The mechanics and the HUD for this are very simple.

Soundtrack and Sound Effects

The entire game is very well atmospheric thanks to the music and sound effects. Everything is perfectly balanced, delivering plenty of suspense and a few jump scares.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the volume, which is too loud and can’t be adjusted through the game’s options.

Gameplay

Right at the beginning, a short tutorial is shown, teaching you how to save and use items.
The game is quite linear, and the puzzles are easy to solve, resulting in a short game to finish (I completed it in approximately 3 hours).

The story is very interesting, as it dives deep into the protagonist’s conscience and feelings. There’s a lot of suspense and some gory moments.
I liked the way certain themes were portrayed in the game (ambition and remorse, for example), even though I have a different opinion from the message the game is trying to convey.

The game’s only negative point is one of the puzzles, in which you inhale a substance and have a limited amount of time to follow a specific path. The time allotted for this puzzle is extremely short, giving the player the feeling that completing it might not be possible. In my case, I had that impression and kept trying to look for another solution… and just wasted time! Two extra seconds for this part would have been enough to make it more intuitive.

Replayability and Game Retention

There’s nothing different to do when playing again, aside from unlocking trophies and experiencing the story once more.
