Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator (PC)

Technical Information

Developer: Let’s Go to the Grindhouse
Distributor: Let’s Go to the Grindhouse
Release Date: January 28, 2021

This FMV is about a girl who really loves vampire stories… and ends up finding something not so pleasant.
I can’t go into much detail because this FMV is extremely short, and one more sentence would already reveal half of what happens.

A blonde girl in a room in Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator. The Strip Selection screen from Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator. A plate with what looks like a piece of meat in Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator. Someone cutting something with a cleaver in Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator. Gameplay footage from Flesh Eating Geriatric Internet Predator.

Final Thoughts – Analyzing the Game as a Whole

Graphics and UI

The film heavily uses dark lighting, rough effects, and an old-film filter.
I think it was well done, since the goal is clearly to feel like a trash horror movie.

At first, the menu seems functional. However, during scene playback, there’s a settings button in the bottom-right corner that doesn’t work. It only functions on the screen where you select parts of the film.

The game has several save slots, which I found unnecessary given how short the story is.

Soundtrack and Sound Effects

The audio quality is quite poor. The volume is low, so I recommend playing with headphones.
Aside from that, there isn’t much else. Don’t expect songs to reinforce tense moments, but for what it is, it’s acceptable.

I did like one of the videos, which is essentially a music clip.

Gameplay

Don’t expect a game where you can truly decide what happens. In fact, I found the gameplay quite strange. It feels like watching a film divided into snippets, and you have to select which part to play next.

Each selection gives you three film fragments to choose from:
– A creepy or a horror punk music clip (at least that’s how it felt to me, I’m the girl who likes death metal! haha);
– Continue the main story;
– A “game over” that sends you back to the beginning.

You won’t know which option is which, so you’ll have to keep trying until you piece together the main film.

I honestly didn’t understand the purpose of this mechanic, it doesn’t really make sense.
When selecting a film segment, you can ask for help. However, it never actually helps. The “phone guy” just says something funny or tells you to turn around! haha

At that point, you can also save your progress (which is useful, so you don’t have to rewatch everything after a game over).

Replayability and Player Retention

Honestly?
It’s a pretty bad FMV. I think it’s only worth it for people who enjoy trash horror movies or those who like gore.
