Final Thoughts – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
Graphics and UI
The visual improvement is significant. The game now features CGs, animations, and the addition of color. The atmosphere has become much more immersive.
I was genuinely impressed with how much this aspect improved aesthetically. Aside from the CGs, everything else remains in pixel art.
The only option besides advancing the dialogue and choosing your responses is saving the game. It’s easy to understand, but perhaps too simplistic for a one-hour experience.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
There are sound effects and music carried over from the previous game, with very little new audio content added.
The same strange and suspenseful vibe continues, creating an unpredictable atmosphere.
Gameplay
Just like in the first game, don’t expect anything explicit. Even with more dialogue, all interpretations remain personal, since the author never clarified what message he intended to convey.
This new “Milk” entry has a less surreal and bizarre narrative, making it clearer that the story revolves around psychological trauma and mental health issues.
Panic disorder? Insomnia? Dissociative disorder? Trauma resulting from sexual abuse? Schizophrenia? It’s impossible to say, because the information is never made explicit. Everything is subjective, and each player will interpret it according to their own personal experiences.
It’s an interesting game, but extremely confusing. It’s not for everyone.
It doesn’t clearly convey a message of awareness or guidance on how to help people dealing with psychological issues. Considering the seriousness of these topics, I’m not sure whether I found this story meaningful or positive. A more purely surrealist adventure might have fit the context better.
At one point in the game, you interact by clicking on objects, similar to a point-and-click mechanic.
I was genuinely disappointed. I expected this sequence to bring more clarity to the story, whether through suspense, psychological horror, or surrealism.
Replayability and Game Retention
It took me about an hour to complete my first ending.
Although there are dialogue choices, the game is short and can be finished quickly.
