Final Considerations – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
Graphics and UI
The artwork in this game is very colorful and uses various organic and geometric shapes.
I really liked this concept because the characters look like microorganisms.
I was enchanted by the visual design. Everything is very cute, and the environments are harmonious in their colors and animations.
The environments worked well with my imagination because they remind me of the ocean floor. However, there are moments that feel like we are inside the human body, and in other parts it seems like we are in space. If we stop to reflect, everything makes sense with the game’s title. I thought it was all very creative!
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
The soundtrack is quite calm and relaxing, and it is also available on Spotify.
Personally, I didn’t find anything particularly striking. Quite the opposite, no song stayed stuck in my head.
I believe this was intentional for two reasons: to give more emphasis to the sounds you produce during gameplay and to create a sense of calmness and relaxation while solving the puzzles.
Gameplay
The gameplay is simple. In short, you must propagate certain musical notes at specific moments and in the correct order to open paths and move on to the next stage.
The difficulty level is low, but there were some moments where I got stuck and had to think more carefully. I didn’t mind that the puzzles are relatively easy. In fact, I liked it because it made the game feel very linear and extremely relaxing.
The Lullaby of Life is perfect for those moments when you want to have fun playing something but don’t want to get stressed.
It is also very friendly for children, since it has simple gameplay and an adorable cartoonish visual style.
Unfortunately, during my playthrough I encountered two bugs. In one case, a creature wasn’t being “activated” by the sound, and in another, the portal that would take me to the next stage disappeared.
It wasn’t anything serious, but it cost me some time until I realized they were bugs instead of puzzles I couldn’t solve.
Another annoying issue that occurred a few times was getting stuck in certain areas due to the collision detection of the environment.
Replayability and Game Retention
It’s a game that warms the heart! <3
It’s super cute and fun to play. I finished it in about four and a half hours.
From the moment I started playing, I felt motivated to go all the way to the end. Even though it doesn’t have a complex story, it was a very pleasant experience. I admit that this little game surprised me in a positive way!
