A Building Full of Cats is a Brazilian hidden object game in which your goal is to find all the cats inside a building.
Final Considerations – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
Graphics and UI
The art style is very nice and charming, but don’t be fooled by the sense of realism, there are kittens of all sizes hidden in all kinds of places.
Each scenario features a distinct color tone with a light gradient. I believe this helps avoid straining your eyes.
Some cats are hidden, and you’ll need to click on objects to reveal them. When you hover your mouse over these objects, there is no visual feedback, so you might not immediately realize they are interactive.
There is a counter at the top of the screen indicating how many more cats you still need to find.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
The music is calm and pleasant to listen to.
When you find a kitten, a small sound effect plays. Other than that, there are no additional sound effects.
Gameplay
The story is quite simple: the residents of a building have gone away, and you were hired to take care of their cats.
There are many cats to find. Despite being a short game, it initially seems very easy. But don’t be fooled, some kittens are extremely well hidden.
There are several achievements, so make sure to look for cats on every screen. In approximately two hours, I managed to unlock all of them. I had to use a hint to find one single missing cat. I don’t usually use hints in hidden object games, but I have to admit that I truly couldn’t figure out where this kitten was and eventually lost my patience.
Devcats is a developer that creates games with the goal of raising funds for rescued stray cats, a very noble cause, which made me very happy to support!
Replayability and Game Retention
It’s a short game, but it works well for me because I tend to forget things quickly, which means I could easily replay it in the future.
