Final Thoughts – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
When this review was written, the game was in early access. It’s possible that things were improved or modified later.
Graphics and UI
I think this is one of the strongest aspects of the game.
You can see that all the colors were carefully selected to create the sense that everything takes place in a dark environment, as if you’re trapped in a cell.
Humans are colored pink, which draws a lot of attention to them during battles.
Enemies, items, and the UI follow the same somber vibe, with warm colors used in darker tones.
The animations are very well-made, and the game’s art style is excellent! <3
The entire interface follows the same aesthetic as the rest of the game.
The font is pixelated, and the game is localized in Portuguese (and very well localized, I might add!).
Initially, the HUD seems a bit confusing, as if it contains too much information.
However, as you continue playing, instructions appear that make the gameplay more user-friendly.
When you hover your mouse over certain elements, a brief description appears. This helped me understand and remember the functions of certain items and abilities.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
I liked the sound effects more than the music.
The sounds of humans entering tubes were really nice! Hahaha.
There isn’t much variety in the music, which makes the game feel a bit repetitive after extended play sessions.
Gameplay
You need to position your characters on the field, equip them with items (each item belongs to a specific class), and attack enemies.
Enemies are random, and when you defeat them, you earn coins that can be used to buy equipment, recruit more humans, purchase food, or acquire a skill.
As you progress through levels, you consume food, so it’s important to always keep an eye on your supply to avoid running out, otherwise, it will start draining your health bar.
In the top-left corner of the screen, there’s a mini-map that can be expanded by pressing the Tab key. This map shows which rooms you’ve already cleared.
Your goal is to find the boss room and defeat the boss to advance to the next level.
The game is full of humor and references to other games and series.
It’s really fun!
The only drawback is that after a while, it feels like you can no longer unlock new items or skills, which makes the game feel somewhat limited in terms of available content.
The environments also don’t change much.
However, since it was in early access, this is expected.
Replayability and Game Retention
I enjoyed it quite a bit and played it frequently.
Even in early access, I spent a considerable amount of time on it.
It’s a challenging game because it’s highly random (after all, it’s a roguelite), even on easy mode.
For those who enjoy the genre, I think it offers something creative and fun, combining pop culture, humor, and entertainment. It can appeal to both players looking for a more casual experience and those who prefer hardcore gameplay.
