Hidden Cats in Berlin is a hidden object game that takes place in the city of Berlin, with over 970 objects to find, including 200 cats.
Final Considerations – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
Graphics and UI
It’s a very intuitive game, and no tutorial is needed.
The drawings are very beautiful. I really liked how the people were illustrated (their clothes and poses), everything looks unique without seeming like a generic copy and paste.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
The soundtrack is quite lively, and depending on the area of the map, some sound effects are triggered, giving the feeling that you’re walking through a city.
When completing each scenario, a very cheerful song plays that is similar to the beginning of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper.
Gameplay
This hidden object game offers an interesting challenge. It’s not too difficult, but it becomes challenging when there are only a few elements left to find.
As you find cats, parts of the scene gradually become colored. Along with this, there are characters and illustration elements with small movements, making the game feel more dynamic. Additionally, cards with curiosities about Berlin are displayed, as well as extra scenarios that are unlocked.
I always find it difficult to be creative in hidden object games, so I thought this card system was an interesting idea.
There are two scenarios where you have to find specific people. In my opinion, this was the most difficult part.
Replayability and Game Retention
I played through all the scenarios until the end. For me, hidden object games work very well in short sessions.
For those who enjoy this genre, it’s a pretty cool game, even if it’s short.
