Wind Peaks is a hidden object game that tells the story of a group of students searching for treasure in a very relaxed way.
Final Thoughts – Analyzing the Game as a Whole
Graphics and UI
The art is very beautiful and has a cartoonized style. Unfortunately, when you zoom in, some assets lose quality.
The colors were well selected, being similar tones that make it difficult to find objects.
During gameplay, the list of objects is at the bottom, and when you find an object, it’s marked.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
There is no music, in the background, you can hear bird songs. It’s very relaxing and doesn’t make the game boring.
The only flaw is that there are very few assets with sounds. Even those that aren’t part of the list of objects could have left gameplay more immersive and detailed.
Gameplay
The game description says it takes about an hour, but see for yourself, I took 6 hours and a half to complete. There are 10 levels in total.
In general, the objects are easy to find, but sometimes one or another made me spend a lot of time searching. They were well hidden, with only a small part showing.
Although the game is not procedural, sometimes the order of some objects changes from one playthrough to another.
Unfortunately, the game does not have save during gameplay. The game saves automatically when you complete a level, so if you give up playing without completing it, when you return to the game, you’ll have to start over from scratch.
I found the mouse sensitivity for navigating the scene a bit too fast.
Personally, I prefer less sensitivity to have more control over unexplored areas. This doesn’t affect gameplay at all, it’s just a personal preference.
Maybe an option to regulate mouse sensitivity would resolve the problem and make it customizable for everyone.
Replayability and Game Retention
Once you complete the game, you can start it again. As I mentioned earlier, the position of some objects changes, making the game “new”.
But since there aren’t many levels, maybe the challenge isn’t very high for some people.
