The Bic Con is an adventure that takes place in the 1990s and is filled with references to that decade.
Ali’s mother owns a video rental store and is being blackmailed by a loan shark. Completely desperate and not knowing what to do, Ali ends up meeting someone who can help her, teaching her how to hustle and pull off small scams.
Her goal is to travel around raising money to get her mother out of this mess.

Final Considerations – Analyzing the Game as a Whole

Graphics and UI

The game was made entirely in a cartoon style, reminiscent of 1990s animated shows.

At various moments, Ali becomes the visual focus, with a colorful background displayed behind her, showing a strong influence from ToeJam & Earl.
Another thing I noticed is that all the characters have different skin tones. Could this be a reference to the drawing style of Doug Funnie? I believe so!

The animations are quite simple, made in a cut-out style. As I’ve mentioned several times in previous reviews, I don’t really like this type of animation, but I don’t think it made the game look rough or unpolished.

Soundtrack and Sound Effects

I didn’t find any particularly memorable tracks, except for the intro song. Maybe because it has vocals, it was easier to remember.

Some characters have voice snippets, but only to express emotions or short words.

Gameplay

It’s a very fun game, it exceeded my expectations!
Despite the story being linear, there are many mini-quests, and I got so invested in the story that I tried to complete them all before finishing the game (and since I didn’t use a walkthrough, some were left unfinished).

The dialogue is very funny, and the NPCs are well-crafted.

The game is available in Brazilian Portuguese and was very well localized, including slang from that era.

I was only annoyed by the bugs, which, although not numerous, occurred frequently (the objective menu would stop working, or Ali’s movement would get stuck in certain areas).
At one point, the buttons stopped responding and I had to restart the game. Luckily, the last save point wasn’t too far away. Then, I recommend saving frequently, just to be safe.

I used a PlayStation 4 controller to play and didn’t have any compatibility issues.

Replayability and Game Retention

I plan to play it again, no doubt!
It’s a very relaxing game that entertained me a lot.
It’s neither too short nor too long, which helps maintain interest without becoming repetitive.
In addition to side quests, there are many achievements, so there’s plenty to do.
