A Castle Full of Cats is a hidden object game.
Your objective is to help the cat Lily free the other cats from a castle, which has been taken over by the evil vampire Fofiño, who is possessed by a cat.

Graphics and UI

The art style is similar to A Building Full of Cats, but with larger areas.
Just like in the previous game, forget about realistic proportions. There are cats of all sizes in every place you can imagine.

I really liked the references to other games and geek culture icons. I was surprised to see El Chavo del Ocho and Chapolin!

Soundtrack and Sound Effects

The soundtrack has a creepy yet comedic atmosphere. The music sets the mood well and sounds pleasant throughout the game.
According to the credits, all the music is free to use.

Gameplay

There’s a brief text at the beginning explaining how to play. It was easy for me to understand since I had already played the previous game. The text is very short, and I believe it would also be understandable for players who haven’t played it before.

The gameplay is quite simple: you just click on the cats. However, some cats are hidden, and you’ll need to click on various objects until you find them. There’s no visual feedback indicating clickable areas, everything appears to be clickable. For less experienced players, this might not feel very intuitive.

There’s no doubt that this is a much-improved version of A Building Full of Cats. In addition to having more screens and more cats to find, the game has become more interactive and features a more consistent and immersive narrative.

Besides the cats, there are items scattered around the environment, which enrich the gameplay. You can spend a good amount of time searching for the cats, many of which are very well hidden.
Finally, there’s a battle against the vampire Fofiño, where you need to find the cats before time runs out. This really surprised me. On top of that, you can try to break records by fighting him in an arcade mode.

Replayability and Game Retention

I finished the game in about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
It’s a short game, but it entertained me quite well. It’s worth replaying after a few weeks, as there are so many cats to find.
